The mill
The surface of the ground is 285 m2. Up to 440 m2 of floor space can be
created, on four different levels. In the basement one still can see the
remains of the old watermill. The groundfloor level used to have an old
grocery shop, with behind and a few steps lower, a large workshop on the
river side. The habitation used to be on the first and second floor. The
house has interesting architectural features, with some very beautiful
details, like the big granite blocks around the windows.
Let your imagination rule!
The possibilitys with this renovation project are numerous. One can build
a small village house and use the rest of the space for terrasses and
gardens. Or build a private flat on the second floor and gites for renting
out. See also below: the plans made by an architect.
Ancient corn-mill along the bank of a little mountain stream that winds
through the village. Le Moulin is a south facing building that needs
serious restoration work. It touches only on the north side the neighbours
house on the edge of town. In the village you will find a primary school,
supermarkets, bakeries, post office, butchers, chemists, cinema,
playground, newspaper shop, bars, a restaurant and 2 garages. There is a
camping and a public swimming pool. Just 15 minutes to a golf resort with
hotel, restaurant and spa. The French coast is just over an hour drive. The
Spanish border is only 5 minutes away, with the hamlet, Tapis, which has a
supermarket and a huge restaurant. Girona with cheap flights all over
Europe, over one hour. Barcelona is 2 and a half hours away. Its an unique
area, with both the French and Spanish culture, the coast, mountains and
skiing, many interesting towns like Barcelona, Girona, Perpignan,
Carcassonne and Andorra within reach.
